HUNG LIKE HANRATTY are the most talked about band on
the circuit. They sing about every day life what people get
angry at, but say nothing. Like picking dog mess up. People
riding mobility scooters when there is nothing wrong with them.
Etc. They were voted as the best live band in 2016 by punk
planet. There album released in 2016 on the mighty FLICKNIFE
RECORDS has been a huge success world wide. There energetic

Described in Ian Glasper's book as "half Splodgenessabounds,
half Crass", The Bus Station Loonies have been doing anarchic
things with silly string and cider since 1995. Based in
Plymouth, the band set the Guinness World Record for the most
gigs performed in 12 hours and have never looked back, nor fully
recovered, since. Stalwarts of the DIY punk scene and darlings
of the Channel 4 documentary, The Loonies have two full albums
under their ever-expanding belts, a handful of EPs, and
countless space-fillers on numerous compilations. Their "vicious
headbutt between Johnny Moped and Jello Biafra" approach is sure
to put the pun back into punk and an ogo in your pogo.
Formed in 2005, North Devon based 4 piece band FALLING APART
were recently described as “almost punk ‘n roll cabaret”, with
their upbeat show of covers, originals and rocked up versions of
popular songs with witty repartee and audience interaction. With
a strong keyboard influence, think of a heady mix of The
Stranglers, The Damned and hint of The Dickies and you’ll get
the flavour of what’s on offer...
Slaughter II featuring 2 ex members of Slaughter & The

Formed in 2011 to bring proper Rock 'n' Roll back to the
forefront. After a couple of stale years SEGREGATES have
returned in 2017 with the debut album "Burston", dedicated to
the memory of the late Motorhead guitarist Micheal "Wurzel"
Burston. With the backing of the legendary L.A label Cleopatra
records the album has received excellent reviews. SEGREGATES
don't look for approval and refuse acceptance. No pretence. No
Bullshit just 100% ugly rock 'n' roll sometimes described as
the point of 2006 the band in its umpteenth line up change chose
to part company with the then singer Jimmy Pursey. That point
the band was at its lowest with no shows and low turn outs
things had to change...both Dave Parsons and Ian Whitewood
recruited the now singer Tim V and set about reworking the
band..this took the form of Tim V and the band working the UK
righting the wrongs they inherited and touring as was the nature
of SHAM 69. That took them the length and breath of Britain and
within the first year they had toured the UK and the USA...and
released their first original album in years. From there word
got out and though it was tough on the fans to face change, like
many bands today it stood the test and saw them tour the world
tirelessly taking in countries such as Australia, Japan, Russia
and China. Also in this time they released 3 more original
albums and had made a movie which is still touring the Movie
Festival market. Of course things have changed but to many true
fans who know and have followed the band they still command
respect which still see's them touring and keeping the true
faith of what SHAM 69 original stood for!
isn't a self-respecting gutter punk, hardcore kid or subcultural
miscreant alive who hasn't seen the GBH logo emblazoned on the
back of a leather jacket, a denim vest, or a torn-up t-shirt.
And now the world will be slapped upside the head with another
reminder as to exactly why GBH is so important, in the form
of Perfume and Piss, the legendary and iconic punk band's first
album for Hellcat Records.
palace-gates-storming tracks like "Kids Get Down," "Cadillac
One" and "This is Not the Real World" carry the torch forward
with the band's trademark fury that is alternately nihilistic,
optimistic, pessimistic, anarchist, violent, humorous and deadly
serious all at once.
Charged GBH have been a band for
over 30 years; far longer than your average careerist outfit of
radio rock garbage who are here today and gone tomorrow. Their
longevity is a testament to their purity of sound and vision.
Although, as vocalist and founding member Colin Abrahall tells
it, there was never anything close to a "plan."
didn't think it'd last a week when we first got together," he
says, with a laugh. "None of us could really play our
instruments or do our specific job within the band. We just kind
of winged it for a while. If you were born the day we formed in
1979, you'd be a mature adult now!"
GBH could have only
been born in Birmingham (or, Abrahall reckons, maybe Detroit)
with its heavily industrialized factories. From Led Zeppelin to
Judas Priest to Black Sabbath to Charged GBH, the Birmingham
vibe is as distinct as it is working class, gritty and real.
"You stay in a band because if you don't, you have to go back
and work in the factory," Colin says. "So you do what you've got
Worldwide touring and gigs at places like the
legendary 100 Club throughout the '80s were commemorated by a
slew of now landmark albums like City Baby Attacked by
Rats (1982), the epitome of what is now known and beloved in
every corner of every scene by punks as the "UK82" sound.
City Baby's Revenge followed two years later, followed by no
less than six albums in the '90s. Ha Ha, released in 2002, was
the last full-length we'd heard from GBH before now... And hot
damn, it was certainly worth the wait!
Piss is, in the band's own words, the "best album we've done in
a long, long time." The album was created in fits and starts
(two weeks on, two weeks off) which allowed them to fine-tune
the material and compose a more complete feeling album. "We're
really pleased with it," says Colin.
"We've been on
various dodgy labels in the past and ever since Hellcat first
started, we've wanted to be associated with it," he remarks. "To
actually sign with Hellcat is a dream come true for us."
30 plus years on, GBH still calls a crappy van home and
wouldn't have it any other way. "It's what we live for -- the
main purpose of each and every day is to get to the gig; that's
the raison d'être."
And so what would the Colin Abrahall
of 1978 think about the GBH of 2010?
"I think he'd be
pretty speechless that we're still doing what we're doing," he
says. "We used to live for the day that it was. We never used to
think about the future that much. I don't think he would have
said I've sold out or betrayed punk rock or anything. We're
still true to our roots."
Subhumans are a DIY anarcho-punk 4-piece from Wiltshire who in
the 80s were redefining the musical boundaries of punk rock with
their numerous EPs and albums, including the classic 'Day the
Country Died', and 'From the Cradle to the Grave', [which
included a 16-minute song of that name], blending hard and fast
with curve-ball dynamics in the music, and a socio-political
lyrical outlook that spurned the obvious and questioned
everything. Splitting in 86, they reformed in 98, and took up
where they left off, incessantly touring, and, unlike most
reformed bands, with the original line-up. Their energies
undiminished, they are a cracking live experience.
Smith was founder member, singer and songwriter for the Adverts,
who formed in late 1976, and became one of the leading bands in
the first wave of British punk rock. In early 1977, they
performed regularly at the newly-opened Roxy Club in London, and
gained cult success with the Stiff Records single "One Chord
Wonders." Their next release, "Gary Gilmore's Eyes" became a hit
record, leading to many radio and TV appearances and extensive
media interest. A further single, “No Time To Be 21,” also
entered the charts, and the band spent the rest of the year
playing live, including major tours with The Damned and Iggy
Pop. The album that followed in early 1978, "Crossing the Red
Sea with the Adverts," is still considered a genuine classic of
the era and is often cited as one of the twenty best punk albums

“Cast Of Thousands,” before their split in 1979. Slammed by the
critics at the time, the album was re-released recently on Fire
Records to universal acclaim, and described by Mojo magazine as
“the long lost punk album that rivals The Clash’s ‘London
Immediately after the break up, TV formed TV
Smith's Explorers, who achieved a U.K. hit in 1980 with the
single “Tomahawk Cruise” and released one album, “Last Words Of
The Great Explorer” a year later. Lack of commercial success led
to the band being dropped by their record label and their
subsequent split. TV re-entered the live arena in 1986 with
Cheap, before performing his first gigs as a solo artist in the
early ’90’s. He has gone on to release a succession of
critically-acclaimed albums, including “March Of The Giants”
(1992), “Immortal Rich” (1995), “Generation Y” (1999), “Not A
Bad Day” (2003), “Misinformation Overload” (2006), “In The Arms
Of My Enemy” (2008), and “Coming In To Land” (2011). He has also
been involved in a number of collaborations with other bands,
most notably with German superstars Die Toten Hosen, who
performed as TV’s backing band on the album “Useless.”
the request of his fans, in 2013 TV released “The Acoustic
Sessions,” an album of solo performances, recorded live in the
studio with renowned producer Jon Caffery. Vive Le Rock magazine
called it “an album that sits alongside the Angry Brigade output
of Pete Townsend, Roger Waters and Lou Reed, but hits you with
the wallop of bare knuckle punk.” Late 2014 saw the release of
a new TV Smith album entitled “I Delete," his sixteenth as a
solo artist, which has been acclaimed by critics and fans alike.
Fiercely independent and determinedly embodying the
original spirit of punk rock, TV continues to tour the world,
bringing his epic solo show to ever-increasing audiences.
Remarkably, he plays his concerts without a setlist and every
performance contains a different selection of songs chosen on
the night. He plays more than 120 gigs a year and has performed
all over Europe, as well as the USA, Japan, Australia, South
America, Russia – and even Heligoland.
Not content with
playing live, TV has also has written about his on-the-road
experiences in five books of highly popular Tour Diaries,
described by “Sandman” and “American Gods” author Neil Gaiman
as, “hilarious, honest and incredibly true.” The fifth and final
volume, “Book Of The Year,” contains a write-up of every one of
the 130 gigs TV played in 2013. At the beginning of 2017 TV’s
first ever book of lyrics was published by Foruli Codex.
Exquisitely designed by Cure designer Andy Vella, and entitled
“The Alternative Top 50,” the book comprises fifty of what are
arguably TV’s best lyrics. It is available as a conventional
paperback, as well as an exclusive collectors’ hardback edition
which includes a 10’ vinyl single that TV has recorded with
Rezillos burst forth upon the rock scene and by chancesfound
themselves inadvertently caught up in the Punk or New Wave
movement. Probably because they didn't proscribe to fifteen
minute slabs of tedious progressive rock, shunning it in favour
of three minute sparkling pop gems which would eventually be
fully realised in their inimitable sound and vision. Their debt
single, I Can’t Stand my baby shot them to underground fame
initially via airings on John Peel’s radio show. Their classic
singles My Baby Does Good Sculptures, Top of the Pops and
Destination Venus signalled critically acclaimed milestones for

reached the top 10 in the UK album chart. They appeared twice on
the legendary Old Grey Whistle Test and hit the Top Twenty with
their hit single “Top of the Pops”, a satirical swipe at the UK
pop music programme of the same name. Once the band had achieved
chart success it was inevitable that they should appear on the
same show! They followed up that same year with a live
recording, Mission Accomplished... But the Beat Goes On, and
promptly broke up to the anguish of fans and music critics
In recent years their music has appeared on
various "History of New Wave" compilations with the band
enjoying a growing status on US underground and college radio
stations and rock fanzines. Interest has continued to expand,
seeing a CD re-release of their material in 1993 and the
subsequent Web buzz via the internet, etc. Bringing it to a
head, they reformed on new year’s Eve 2002 with a spur-of-the
moment gig in Edinburgh, Scotland playing to 150,000 hogmanay
revellers gathered in the capital city. The writing was on the
wall, it was time to get the band together again, tour the world
and set to work on the creation of a new album. Following rave
reviews, the reformed group embarked upon a twelve-date tour of
the US. Strangely enough, although signed to an American label,
and having recorded their debut in New York City, the band had
previously played only one gig in the USA in 1978, at the

Ruts DC were formed in 1980 by
guitarist Paul Fox, bassist John 'Segs' Jennings and drummer
David Ruffy. With vocalist Malcolm Owen they had previously been
The Ruts, one of the best-loved bands of the punk rock era,
releasing several fine singles (including 'Babylon's Burning'
which earned them a silver disc) and two much-acclaimed albums
'The Crack' and 'Grin And Bear It'. Musically they were always
more ambitious than many of their contemporaries, mixing reggae
and rock in a manner that still influences musicians today;
lyrically they reflected their uncompromising support for causes
such as Rock Against Racism.

term D.C. (from the Latin for 'from the beginning') to the name.
Despite critical acclaim the band folded in 1983, although on
the 16th of July 2007 The Ruts played together one more time
when with U.S. punk hero Henry Rollins on vocals Paul, Segs and
Dave reunited for an emotional performance at the Islington
Academy. With Paul suffering from incurable lung cancer it was
an evening which also featured many of their punk contemporaries
and which will live long in the memories of all who were there.
In the interim years Segs and Dave have worked separately and
together with some of the biggest names in the music industry –
in 2010 they got together to write Rhythm Collision Vol.2 then
in 2011 Ruts DC returned to the stage.
Now, in 2016, Segs
handles the lead vocal / frontman duties with panache and
respect while Ruffy sings backing vocals as well as holding down
the perfect beat. Sounding fresh and with the songs still
proving to carry an important message in these current times.
The Ruts DC show is a must see.
999 celebrate 41 years together as a band in 2017. They formed
part of the first wave of punk in 1976 performing their classics
Homicide, Emergency etc. at concerts worldwide. 999 are veterans
of the Rebellion Festivals and are the only band to have
appeared at all 20 shows.
Discharge who formed in Stoke On Trent, UK in 1977, were one of
the world’s first hardcore punk bands, and are often recognized
as one of the main bands responsible for starting crust punk,
and serving as sole inspiration for a legion of bands who played
a style of hardcore punk called “d-beat” for how they paid
tribute to Discharge’s distinctive guitar and drum interplay.
They later went on to play in the ’80s crossover hybrid of
hardcore punk and thrash metal. Discharge are still active
today, fronted by JJ Janiak from Broken Bones on vocals.
Discharge formed with the original line up of Terry ‘Tezz’
Roberts on Vocals, twin brother Tony ‘Bones’ Roberts on Guitar,
Roy ‘Rainy’ Wainwright on guitar, Nigel Bamford on bass and Akko
on drums. Shortly after Nigel Bamford left the group and Rainy
moved to bass. This line up sounded much more like the Sex
Pistols and only recorded one demo.
The line up and the
sound changed in 1979. It became: Kelvin ‘Cal’ Morris on vocals,
Bones on guitar, Rainy on bass and Tez on drums. Many consider
this line up to be the “classic” Discharge line up.
Discharge have returned to the more classic sound with Tezz
Roberts returning, now on guitar. Bones on guitar, Rainy on
bass, Dave on drums and JJ Janiak from Broken Bones on vocals
who suits the classic sound of Discharge well.

receiving fantastic support from old and new fans, they will be
recording a new album for 2015 and world tour.
ARTURO BASSICK ( the only member from the 1977 line up still
actively keeping the band alive ) , they combine many of the

This is the Age, but
before that there was this:
Chronic Generation was
born in a Hertfordshire school music room, one rainy afternoon
in 1977 and raised on a healthy diet of playing Pistols, Clash &
Damned covers with assorted mates on vocals.
November 1979 sees the
Hitchin based Chronic Generation play their first gig at a 6th
form party. Early 1980 the band start to pick up a local
following and drop half their name.
1981 - The band release
1,000 copies of their self financed debut EP Puppets of War on
the Gargoyle label. Later signed to Fresh Records it spends
almost ten months in the UK Independent Chart, peaking at number
4. Selling over 45,000 copies it was one of the top selling
Indie singles of the year.
With the success of the
EP, Chron Gen go from local youth club to the Lyceum, London in
front of 3,000 people and are invited to join The Exploited,
Discharge and Anti-Pasti on the now infamous Apocalypse tour in
the UK in the summer of 1981.
The tour rips up all four
corners of the country and brings Chron Gen to the nations
youth, gaining them many column inches in the weekly music
press, who can’t quite categorise their more ‘tuneful’ approach
to Punk songwriting!
They sign to Miles
Copeland’s Step Forward label and release ‘Reality’ before
moving to Secret Records, who issue the band’s debut album,
Chronic Generation, in March 1982, reaching number 53 on the UK
Albums Chart. It is the last release to feature Jon Thurlow, who
is replaced by Mark ‘Floyd’ Alison.
The band joined The Anti
Nowhere League on their UK ‘So What’ tour and then an 18 date
tour of the United States in support of the album. After a
further single, Outlaw, Pete Dimmock left to join Chelsea and is
replaced by Liverpool’s finest bass player, Roy Horner in 1983.
The band’s final studio
release was the 1984 mini-album Nowhere to Run, which was
recorded be-fore Horner joined and featured session musician
Nigel Ross-Scott on bass. The band split up in October 1984,
subsequently reforming to play occasional reunion shows.
Floyd later joined The
Occasional Tables. He died on 31 October 1999. Pete Dimmock died
on the 12th August 2011.

Rock (UK), Alternative Press & Razorcake (USA) and Ox Fanzine
This led to us signing a deal with a European
booking agent (Mario Schoelcke) for 2016, we plan to be in
Germany in early 2017.
We have supported bands inc
Goldblade, Mike Watt (Stooges), Spear of Destiny, Dirt Box
Disco, The Damned, Vice Squad, and have dates ahead with The
Vibrators, and The Membranes. We have appeared at the Rebellion
Festival (2014, 15 & 16), Bearded Theory (2015), Strummercamp
(2014 & 15), North West Calling, Dogfest (2016) etc. and played
two shows at Rebellion 2016 - we have also had recent supports
with Spear of Destiny, have dates with The Membranes, Ferocious
I'm now looking ahead to 2017, when we will be
releasing our follow up album on both Vinyl and CD.
