Man are a rock band from Wales whose style is a mixture of American West Coast psychedelia, progressive rock, and blues. Formed in November 1968 as a reincarnation of Welsh rock harmony group the Bystanders, Man are renowned for the extended jams in their live performances.

Man first started off at the end of the sixties, called it a day towards the end of the seventies, then in the early eighties realized they could do nothing better than get together again. They have been through more lineups than you can shake a stick at, with various members coming and going at a rate which gives Pete Frame nightmares. (Pete loved Deke's books, by the way). Micky, Martin and Deke have pretty much been the core of the Manband, though a while back Terry Williams had another spell after John (Pugwash) Weathers had kept the drum stool warm for a few years; and Phil Ryan returned for a brief period after a 20 year hiatus.

The award winning Blues Rock Guitarist, Luke Doherty, started playing Festivals when he was twelve years old, and 10 years later, he hasn’t looked back. After achieving a Rock School first, 2 grade 8’s by the age of 11, it lead to many Newspaper and Radio interviews. While Luke was Ploughing his was through his grades, he was encouraged to record his version of Parisian Walkways of which Gary Moore had a copy. Luke has gone on to play numerous Festivals, Blues Clubs and Music Venues up and down the Country, including the Legendary Cambridge Rock Festival, 100 club London and Upton Blues Festival, to name a few.

Luke is never happier than when he is playing Blues. It all started when he was 7 years old and he found an old music VHS in a cupboard featuring several Blues players. He was enthralled with the playing of Eric Clapton and B.B King, both of which he was extremely honoured to meet a few years later. Over time he also met the great Peter Green, Jeff Healey and Andy Fairweather-Low, and John Mayell which enlightened his passion for Blues even more.
Luke has been truly blessed to share the stage with many fine Blues rock artists including, Ansley Lister, Danny Bryant, Virgil and the Accelerators, Connie Lush, Mike Estes of Lynyrd Skynyrd and Skinny Molly, As well as the Legendary Buddy Whittington, who told the crowd when Luke was on stage with him “This is how the Blues should be played”.

2015 was an exciting time for Luke and his band with the release of their all originals album “Six Strings and a Stetson”. The album has been played all around the world and to rave reviews. With such enthusiasm from the public about the album it has propelled them to go back into the studio to start on another long awaited second all original album, which they hope will be available very soon.

Luke is very fortunate to have the backing of such accomplished musicians in his band, such as:-

The legendary Paul Morgan on vocals and harp, who has shared the stage with Dr Feelgood, Deep Purple, The Crazy World of Arthur Brown to name a few.

Simon Parratt, who has recently obtained a BMus (hons) degree in jazz. His jazz and hard rock influence gives their songs an edge, which makes their songs stand out in the crowd and gives them a little twist. Throughout his musical career Simon has done lots of session work and recording for many Blues, Classic Rock and Jazz bands.

Ant Biggs has been playing bass for many years and toured the world with Cajun Rockers Folk band The Butter Mountain Boys, who received international Musician and Recording Artist of the Year and Arts Council Musician in Residence, with one album charting at number 17, which lead to many Radio and TV appearances throughout the 80s and 90s retiring from music 1995, Ant came out of musical retirement to join the band and to playing Blues with Luke in May 2014.

A female guitar prodigy, at fourteen Chantel was told by major labels that she had a "great voice, but girls don't play guitar like that!" Wisely ignoring the comments, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the college’s history, to achieve a 100% pass mark, with 18 distinctions. Chantel left with a First Class Honours degree in Popular Music and a coveted prize, the college’s musician of the year award.

In previous years, Chantel stepped out in the pro-musician world and her stunning live performances demonstrated that she had the ability to perform rock for the new age, played by a musician born with an effortless virtuosity. Since then, she has built a loyal and growing fan base who follow her every move.

If you measure an artist’s prospects by the company they keep, then Chantel has been moving in the right direction. Early in her career, Chantel was invited to perform with Joe Bonamassa, on two of his UK tours.

When Chantel released her 2011 debut album, Like No Other, one critic said, “Chantel McGregor deserves to be held up as a messiah of blues-rock and given her own mountain. She doesn't strum or pick her guitar but almost bends and distorts it, as if she's channelling the ghost of Hendrix through her fingers"

The album was produced by Livingstone Brown, whose production credits include Ed Sheeran, Robin Trower, and Shakira. The end result was a beautifully crafted debut album that showcased Chantel’s versatility and talent as a singer-songwriter.

Chantel’s follow up album, Like Control, again produced by Livingstone Brown, was released in October 2015 to critical acclaim.

All About Rock’s review of the album said:
'The album in its entirety has a common theme running through of gothic imagery which makes it almost a concept album but each track stands out on its own. Chantel’s double tracked vocals are amazingly tight & the production on this album sounds loose which is a compliment to Livingstone Brown & Chantel who have obviously spent a lot of time on the arrangements. The girl can obviously shred but she does so in a very understated & despite the title of the album, a controlled way. Recommended for fans of blues, rock, Jeff Buckley, Marillion, Big & Rich, Country & Nick Drake. This is a hard album to categorize & pigeon hole which in this day & age of labels & boxes is a good thing.'

Planetmosh reviewed the album with the following comment:
'The album is full of great guitar work, but Chantel McGregor isn’t just a guitar player – she does the vocals too and they are equally impressive. She’s got a great voice and the variety of songs on the album allows her to demonstrate a range of styles vocally. It really is a great album.'

The single, Take The Power, was playlisted for 5 weeks on Planet Rock radio.

Chantel has recently been interviewed for features on Sky News, BBC Radio Five Live and BBC Radio Four.

In December 2018, Chantel launched her own Podcast, which has been very successful, earning a place in the iTunes Podcast Charts.
